Blueprint Takeoff: a floor plan with measured wall and slab areas and live square-foot labels

Built on insulation jobs, not adapted to them

We run an insulation business. The measurement conventions, the way a bid is itemised, the difference between a wall run and a drawn surface, the fact that a bonus room over a garage is the most commonly argued scope in the trade: none of that was designed from a specification.

What you get

Built around how this trade actually works

  • Takeoff that measures the way you bid

Wall runs with heights, drawn surfaces, deductions that show what they came off, and a per-shape switch when a gable got counted as linear instead of area.

  • Assemblies priced per condition

R-value and product per condition, priced from your own rate card, with the rate editable on the line without moving every other line that shares it.

  • One-day jobs, scheduled properly

Most insulation work is a crew for a day. The board is built for that: spans, capacity per day, and an open-slot finder for "can we take this on the ninth?"

  • Proof before the drywall

Photos filed to the job by location and frozen with their date. When the argument is about what was behind the wall, this is what ends it.

  • The bonus room, priced

Scope added on site gets reported from the field, priced the same day, and cannot be forgotten, because the job will not invoice while it is unresolved.

  • Billed on your own number

The estimate number is the job number is the invoice number, so the builder's accounts payable can tie your invoice to the estimate they approved.

How it works

Start to finish

  1. 1

    Take off the plan

On screen, calibrated against a printed dimension, with the sheet's own conditions.

  2. 2

    Send an itemised bid

From your price list, with an accept link the builder can sign on a phone.

  3. 3

    Schedule and dispatch

One crew owns the job for its span, and telling them is a button that stamps what plan they were told.

  4. 4

    Document, invoice, collect

Photos as the work happens, the invoice on the same number, and a chase list ranked by dollars at risk.

Running two trades at once

Plenty of insulation subs also pour concrete, or want to. The platform is built so a company can run more than one trade without either becoming a second-class citizen: filters, boards, quotas, calendars, cost codes and reporting are all per trade, and margin rolls up together or separates by trade on demand.

If you bill two trades under two entities, each can carry its own letterhead, its own payment details and its own net terms, mapped so a job quotes and invoices under the right one automatically.

Common questions

No. The platform runs twenty-one trades and most customers run one. Insulation and concrete are simply the two we operate ourselves, so they are the ones with the deepest defaults.
